IEEE DAY 2019 VANCOUVER CELEBRATION
IEEE Day honours the roles IEEE members play in their local communities, and their work toward the vision of advancing technology for the benefit of humanity. It is a global event that brings together the IEEE members.
IEEE Vancouver has been proudly hosting IEEE Day for many years. Join us this year again for networking, inspirational presentations, meetings with the local section executives and volunteers, and free refreshments.

My Journey in the Professional Engineering and IEEE Worlds
Bob Stewart, P. Eng, is a distinguished member of the IEEE Vancouver Section. A past president of the EGBC (formerly APEGBC) he has a rich experience in engineering in BC and beyond. His presentation promises to be a revealing insight into many facets of our profession and is sure to be the highlight of the Vancouver IEEE DAY 2019 celebration.
Biography:
Bob Stewart is an UBC graduate in Electrical Engineering - Power Option - 1981, and he has been registered as a Professional Engineer in B.C. since 1985. He has been with BC Hydro for 38 years and started as an Engineering Pupil (summer student) then hired as an EIT.
He has experience associated with the design of generation, transmission and distribution assets. He was seconded to Ontario Hydro for 11 months on Special Assignment as a Project Engineer, and he was the Electrical Maintenance Manager for 18 months and the Plant Manager for 4 months at GMS on Special Backfill Assignments
Bob has over 10 years of experience in departmental, divisional and plant management roles, and he has been a member of IEEE for 41 years. He serviced on the IEEE Substation Committee as a member and a Subcommittee Chair for 12 years. He is a Past President of Engineers and Geoscientists of BC (2017-2018). He has been married for 28 years and has two daughters who are 17 and 21.
