The Robotrix Workshop and Challenge took place on the 9th and 10th of March, 2019 at the Dayananda Sagar University campus. The workshop was attended by students from all branches of DSU School of Engineering. The event saw a huge turnout of participants from across all years and branches that were segregated into 18 teams of 4 members each. Each of the teams was provided with a kit that could be carried away with them and was provided with ample assistance from the trainers and volunteers in addition to hands on training on hardware and software components of the workshop.

The participants were introduced to the basics of programming /coding by the trainers for the workshop - Mr Abhishek S and Mr Abhinav. The trainers spoke in length about the importance and significance of programming to build a robot and explained in depth the process of programming and dumping of the code in order to build Path Follower and Obstacle Avoider Robots.

The participants were encouraged to work on the code by themselves to encourage creativity and were provided with assistance whenever needed. The building of the robots and debugging of code went on till 5pm on March 9th. Feedback was received from the participants by the volunteers of the program and the response received was positive and encouraging.

The organisers and participants met again the next day – March 10th 2019 for a Challenge. The robots built by the teams were to function as Path Follower Robots and were to successfully complete a lap around the track that was built by the organisers.

The winning teams were awarded with the 1st, 2nd and 3rd prizes by the judge Dr Pushpa Mala, Branch Counselor, IEEE DSU and Mr Abhishek S, Chair, IEEE DSU as a conclusion to the event. The trainers, organisers and participants were presented with certificates.
