FDP on “Mobile and Wireless Communication “
This FDP was a 6-day hands-on training programme, which is sponsored by the MEITy under the Ministry of ICT of the Government of India, is being organised jointly by the Electronics & ICT Academy at the National Institute of Technology (NIT), Warangal and the Department of ECE along with the Professional chapters of IEEE, ISTE, and IETE at VNRVJIET.
Speaking at the occasion, Dr. V.V. Mani, Associate Professor-ECE at NIT-Warangal and one of the Coordinators of the FDP, pointed at the growing usage of wireless and mobile devices, underlying advanced technology, innovative use of spectrum, and development of wireless communication for essential and critical applications. She elaborated about the Software-Defined Radio (SDR) and other advancements including encryption techniques for reliable and secure communication and spoke about current trends in mobile and wireless communication such as 5G radio, millimetre wave communications, energy management techniques ad interference management in 5G communications.
Dr. Y. Padma Shayi, Professor and HoD-ECE and one of the Coordinators of the FDP, said that this programme is devoted to make participants aware of practical aspects of communication technologies and applications along with the necessary theory knowledge, discussing advanced topics like software-defined networks for communication, massive MIMO and Millimetre Wave Communication, visible light communication and resource allocation in 5G networks, with hands-on sessions using MATLAB all through.
