Keerthana Foundation-Orphanage Visit

Freezing days of January in Hyderabad, when the entire city dons their sweaters, monkey-caps and mufflers with a hot cup of tea, there are few under-privileged who cannot afford even a blanket.Hence an initiative was taken by IEEE MVSR SB to make it a way to distribute clothes and blankets for the children. This opportunity was also utilized as an interactive session where the students were given inputs on education and technology.

Sri Keerthana Foundation is a non-profit and non-governmental organization started by Mr. Anil Kumar and his wife Madhavi. The NGO is working for the less- privileged and vulnerable children in the areas of education and health.As we made our steps to the orphanage, the children were so excited to meet us and interact with us. There was a huge smile on the faces of the children and they were happy to engage.The importance and essence of education is conveyed to the children by our coordinators and they came up with fundamental concepts aiming at the enhancement of the children’s productivity.Later on, our coordinators interacted with the children and boosted their confidence by giving moral support and strength.It's not for sympathy but it's the feeling of empathy that made us plan for the visit. The interaction was very memorable as most of them opened up their thoughts.Later,we distributed biscuits to the children.

We as a Student Branch pledged since our inception to carry this culture and tradition to instil knowledge, educate the deprived, teach simple engineering practices, career awareness and above all we believe in “Being Human”.
