Power Spectrum Estimation in Low-Frequency Radio Astronomy
The power spectrum is a very useful tool to quantify statistical sky signals in several contexts in astrophysics. Turbulence in the inter-stellar medium is one such area. In this talk I will discuss how low frequency radio observations can be used to estimate the power spectrum of the turbulent inter-stellar medium.

Power Spectrum Estimation in Low-Frequency Radio Astronomy
Biography:
Prof. Somnath Bharadwaj obtained his PhD from IISc Bangalore and pursued his MSc in Physics from IIT Kharagpur. His research interest is in the area of Astrophysics and Cosmology. Currently he is working on low frequency radi telescopes to study the high redshift universe using the redshifted 21-cm radiation from neutral hydrogen. He is also involved in the theoretical, computational and also observational work connected to this issue.
