Having access to the right tools is key to quickly and accurately identify, locate and eliminate sources of RF interference. This hands-on session will focus on the Tektronix RSA instruments using the Alaris Antenna to track down interference sources, and EXFO’s all-in-one FTB-1 Pro platform with the intelligent OpticalRF software to eliminate performance issues on the CPRI link.

We will delve into real-world examples to discuss the types of interference found in existing 4G/LTE networks, including band clearing for new 5G NR or LTE-LAA bands, and provide tips and hints on how to efficiently locate sources of interference.

This seminar covers the following topics:
• A glimpse into 5G technologies and new frequency bands
• How to identify RF interference in the CPRI spectrum and track its source
• The ins and outs of measuring wireless and cellular power levels
• How to deal with dead spots in fixed areas
• Fiber 101 overview: Fiber connector inspection, fiber characterization and CPRI link validation
• Step-by-step instructions on using your equipment to get accurate measurements
