WIE WEEK CELEBRATION
WIE week celebration 5TH TO 8TH MARCH 2019
INTRODUCTION
As part of International Women’s Day celebrations in accordance with the WIE week from March 5th to 15th, the IEEE WIE AG of NSSCE has planned various activities on the theme – Balance For The Better Technology For Future. Our WIE wing is promoted by active members and supportive faculties. An inaugural ceremony was conducted with a session by two eminent women sharing their life journey. On 8th March International Women’s Day the woman staffs are recognized with greeting cards and celebrated along with unsung heroines and tribal students.
ABOUT THE PROGRAM
1. INAUGURAL CEREMONY -TALK BY TWO EMINENT WOMEN
IEEE WIE AG Of NSSCE have arranged an executive meeting and outlined an inaugural ceremony of WIE week. The event was scheduled on 7th March at 4 pm and which was held at the Digital hall of NSS College of Engineering. Ms. Athira M current Secretary IEEE SB NSSCE has coordinated the event. The college choir has started the function. With the blessings of almighty. A welcome speech was delivered by Asst. Prof Vijitha S, Branch Counselor IEEE SB NSSCE. Dr. Leesha Paul, Immediate Branch Counselor IEEE SB NSSCE has felicitated the event. A cake-cutting ceremony has followed the session with the symbol of Sweetness.
The First Session of the event was started at 4.15 pm by Mrs. Subha S, Technical lead Engineering Industrial Services TCS. She has motivated the participants with her life journey, explaining the struggles in technical and managerial areas. An interactive session with inspiring stories and quotes has made the session fruitful. The final session has done by Dr. Simna K T who is the psychologist at District Homeo Hospital, Kalpathy. She has given an overview of their Seethalayam project relies on woman empowerment. Her session on Gender Justice has inspired the Young minds to woman recognition. She has also explained stories of her Patients and experiences in the medical field. The participants were motivated by her talk and interacted throughout the session.
The event was officially terminated by vote of thanks which is delivered by Haritha H, WIE chairperson IEEE WIE AG NSSCE. On behalf of IEEE SB NSSCE, she extended her gratitude towards the supportive faculties, volunteers and participants. The event wad ended at 5.00 pm
2.TOKEN OF LOVE FOR TEACHERS
As part of international women’s day, the IEEE WIE AG has created handmade greeting cards to teachers. Two days prior to women’s day our students' branch has arranged an execom meeting and put forwarded the recognition of teachers on international women’s day. WIE members have decided to greet the teachers by cards as a token of love. Anju maria C S Link representative of IEEE SB NSSCE, Karthika R vice-chairperson WIE AG of IEEE SB NSSCE have to lead the team and members have worked on their hostels and decorated the card. On 8th March During the lunch break, w WIE members of each department have given the cards to one who cares always for us. Their Smile and appreciation have blessed our Student Branch.
3.LUNCH WITH UNSUNG HEROINES
IEEE WIE AG of NSSCE has decided to celebrate International Women’s Day from a different perspective. Recognition of Girl students, Teachers doesn’t complete the recognition of women. We greeted our woman staffs and heroines responsible awarded for our clean campus and invited for lunch at 12.00 pm. Our branch counselor Asst. Prof Vijitha Maam and our members were interacted and had the food. The smile and excitements that they have shown have fulfilled our journey of recognition. The unsung heroines shown their gratitude by their kindful words and students branch have taken photographs with them. They have to spend with us for an hour and left at 1.30pm. Each member is blessed with their smile and tears as a symbol of love.
The purpose of the celebration of women’s day has influenced us to aware of the kids about woman empowerment. We have visited the tribal welfare school G.W.LP School Olavakkode under the rule of Panchayath. Our WIE members have reached the school at 1.00 pm. The students and staff members welcomed us and arranged a function and provided an opportunity to interact with the students. The students were sang their rhymes, performed skis and our WIE members also sang , interacted and played with the students. As a token of love we have given greeting that we have prepared and sweets. The children became happy and extended their gratitude as their smile and we have taken photographs with them. We left the school at 2.00 pm and gifted their smiles.
