IEEE Montreal Section 2019 Banquet & Annual General Meeting

This annual event is an opportunity to network with colleagues, celebrate member achievements with our awards ceremony, and learn from our speaker: José Fernandez, Professor at Polytechnique Montréal who will be talking about cybersecurity.

REGISTRATION: Please register early (click the button on this page). There is a maximum capacity of 150 people, menu selection (beef, fish, vegetarian) is required at the time of registration. The venue needs the menus to be provided 14 days in advance. Please note that the price listed for each category is per person. Guests have to pay for their ticket at the specified rate. José Fernandez, Professor, Polytechnique Montréal

Biography:

José M. Fernandez, Eng., Ph.D., is a Full Professor in the Computer & Software Engineering Department at the Ecole Polytechnique de Montreal, where he heads the Information Systems Security Research Lab (SecSI). His current research interests include Cyber Physical Systems Security, Cyber Security of Critical Infrastructure (including electrical networks, road traffic control, air traffic control, aircraft and ships) and Cyber Conflicts. He has several years of professional experience in computer security in the private and public sector. He holds two bachelor’s degrees in Mathematics and Computer Engineering from MIT, a Master’s from the University of Toronto (Cryptology), and a Ph.D. from the Universite de Montréal (Quantum Computing).
