This lunch gathering will provide a good chance for networking and get to know people who are either sharing the same goals that you have or keen to support you as s female student in Engineering field. Furthermore, we are delighted to have Kaliope Vassilopoulos as our speaker for the meeting.

Kaliope Vassilopoulos
Shared experiences in engineering
Biography:
Kaliope was born and raised in Melbourne. She graduated from RMIT with a Bachelor of Aerospace Engineering with honours in 1992. Kaliope then moved to Canberra to start a Masters, upgraded to a PhD and started teaching here at UNSW ADFA. Kaliope was one of the first female lecturers in engineering and at 21 was among the youngest lecturers at the College.
After Kaliope left UNSW, she started working at Ford in Melbourne as an aerodynamicist. She was one of the first to introduce CFD to assist with engine cooling and vehicle drag. From aero, she joined the NVH team, looking after wind noise and air leakage. She then moved into the Customer Acceptance Team as the drive team leader for the region, and now she is in vehicle dynamics. Kaliope is passionate about WIE and women advocacy, she do lots of volunteering, and work to achieve inclusivity within the workplace.
