IEEE Bombay Section's Line Robotics Workshop
IEEE SIES GST organized a “Robotics Workshop”, approved by IEEE Bombay Section on Saturday, 14th September 2019 between 09:00 am to 06:00 pm at SIES Graduate School of Technology, Nerul.
The speaker for the workshop was Prof. Vivek Nar, IEEE Bombay Section. He is also a Professor at D J Sanghvi College of Engineering. According to him, this workshop is “Triguni Robotics Workshop”.
Prof. Vivek Nar started the workshop with a Sanskrit sloka, this rejuvenated energy among the students. He then showed us some videos on robotics & asked us questions on it. In addition to that, he shared his experience of robotics & various competitions where he demonstrated his robots. After a while, he started teaching us about wired robots & the components required to build a wired robot. In the components, the important thing was motor, so he explained us the working of motor and also talked about its torque, gear box, etc. He then talked about the interdependency of torque, speed & control (human). He asked us to find out about the working of the switch & then asked us to draw a circuit diagram of the robot. After this he asked us to make a robot using two motors, wheels & switches. He & his volunteers guided us throughout the workshop in making a wired robot.
This workshop was very interactive & had a great response from the students. At the end, the workshop ended with our National Song “Vande Mataram”. Around 30 participants attended the workshop. The workshop ended with gratuity to the guest and vote of thanks.
