Jnanasangama 2019

Jnanasangama 2019, A National level student Conference in collaboration with IEEE was held on 11th  May 2019. Dr. Nagesh H.R., Professor & HOD, Department of ISE, AJ Institute of Technology, Mangalore inaugurated the conference. Sri Ravikrishna D. Kallaje, Director, Governing Council of Vivekananda College of Engineering and Technology presided over the function. 232 papers belonging to  ME, EC, CS, IS, CV & MBA were received from various colleges. A total of 74 papers were selected based on the scientific merit and innovativeness from all branches for oral presentation and 100 papers were selected for poster presentation.

 

Students from about thirteen Engineering colleges across Karnataka and 516 students from VCET participated in the event. The conference had two competitions  namely paper presentation and poster presentation. Dr. Ajith Hebbar, Professor, MITE, Mangalore, Dr.Subhramanya, Associate Professor, NMAMIT, Nitte, Karkala, Dr.Puttanna K, Assistant Professor,Dept. of MBA, Mangalore, University , Dr.Nagesh H.R., Professor, AJIET, Mangalore, Dr.Shreeranga Bhat, Professor, SJEC, Mangalore were the Judges of the event. Cash prizes of Rs 2,500 and  Rs 1,750 for winners of paper presentation and Rs 2,250  and Rs 1,500 for winners of poster presentation were given as first and second prizes respectively. Trophy and certificates were given to all the prize winners in each stream. Participation certificates were given to all the participants. Lunch was arranged to all the participants, final year students and the staff members. 

 

The valedictory function was held at 3:30 PM at Sri Rama Sabhabhavana .Dr. Shreeranga Bhat, Professor, St.Joseph's Engineering College,  Mangalore was the chief guest and Dr.M.S.Govinde Gowda, Principal,VCET,  presided over the function. Students were given oppurtunity to express their views. The student participants found the event useful and it gave them a forum to present their project work and could interact with their peers.
