Abstract:
This is your chance to test drive an electric vehicle (EV) and learn about how the transportation sector is experiencing a profound transformation. Technological advancements, public policy, and environmental awareness have contributed to the (re)emergence of battery electric vehicles. Beyond mild hybrid (48V) and hybrid vehicles, an onslaught of fully electric vehicle models is underway. But few know that there are already 30+ electrified vehicle models available to Nova Scotians along with a robust province-wide fast charging network. Come learn how the advancement of: autonomous driving, lithium ion batteries, vehicle to vehicle communication, the proliferation of charging networks and innovative advancements like virtual power plants have presented burgeoning opportunities for Electrical and Electronics Engineers.
