IEEE PHOTONICS SOCIETY STUDENT CHAPTER INAUGURATION

The inauguration began with Ms.S.Hemalatha, Chair of the PS student chapter giving a warm welcome to the chief guests,The Managing Director, The Principal and all the others gathered for the ceremony.

 

The societies were initiated by lighting the of the Lamp by Dr.T.D.Subash followed by honouring the chief guests by giving memento

 

The achievements and the excellence of the chief guests were cited by, Mr.S.Simon Daniel Raj vice chair of PS student chapter.

As a part of the 25th anniversary celebrations of the St. Joseph’s Group of institutions St.Josephs Institute of Technology, Department of ECE and IEEE Photonics Society has initiated the new student branch in the September 2019.The session followed by an inspiring and thought provoking speech by the honourable chief guest Dr.T.D.Subash. He enlightened the students about the current trend in photonics field. He gave the students a brief presentation on his journey and the opportunities available in IEEE especially for Women. It was inspiring to watch him share his experiences with the students. Our Guest Of Honour gave us an insight about the events and opportunities and grands sanctioned  in IEEE-PS made the session an interactive one. He depicted the purpose of life on earth by saying short stories that could be related with every aspect of day-to-day life..He also gave a brief explanation about the IEEE student design contest by photonics society madras chapter which is an innovation challenge competition. As we have planned to organize the International conferences in specific optical research domain, he extended his support to our event. Students showed great enthusiasm and participation in the event throughout.

 

 

The Office Bearers of the Student Branch Chapter PS society was introduced by Dr.G.Rohini,  Lab HOD Department of ECE, St.Joseph’s Institute of Technology.

The plan of action for the year 2019-2020 of various events was commenced by Ms.R.Sri Nivedha , Secretary of PS student chapte

With great pleasure, the auspicious occasion ended after the delivery of vote of thanks by Ms.S.Varsha , Treasurer of PS student chapter.

 

At the end of the function, the group photo was taken with Office bearers ,student members and affinity group.

With around 50 student members, St.Joseph’s Institute of Technology initiated the Photonics Society (PS)  Student Branch in its campus .This great ceremony was organized by the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering
