Industrial visit to kiira motors

We had a two-day industrial visit to Kiira motors, a premier electric car manufacturing company in Uganda. On the first day, we visited the company offices in the capital Kampala, where current operations are run. On the second day, we visited the plant construction site in Jinja, an industrial town in Uganda.

Technology employed in Kiira Motors Electric vehicles

Eng. Enock is a senior systems engineer at Kiira Motors. He was our facilitator on the first day of our visit to the Kiira motors offices in Kampala. He gave a background of the project and then went on to expain the technologies employed in the electric vehicles. He then gave us a tour of the three cars that have been made by the company i.e The Kiira EV, Kiira EVS and the Kayoola solar electric bus.

Biography:

He went to Kings College Buddo Secondary school in Uganda.

He did a Bachelors' Degree in Electrical engineering, Makerere University

He did a masters' degree in systems Engineering

He has been working at Kiira motors from 2012, when the project was still a Unversity project.

James received us in Jinja where we had the tour of the plant site which is still under construction. He explained to us the project background and walked us through the development stages of the project. We then visited the various structures under construction.
