IEEE North Jersey Section PACE Meeting-Wednesday, November 13, 2019-6:30pm
Meeting Topic:
Over 2,210,000 Americans lost their jobs to H-1B workers during the past 30 years. Some of these jobs came from our North Jersey Section. This H-1B Program is still in operation. The H-1B Program is for college rated jobs.
Let me explain: Using a conservative average of 85,000 H-1B workers, over a 26 year (1990 – 2016) period, more than 2,000,000 Americans lost jobs and opportunity to these imported workers. With this H-1B program , over the 26 year (1990 – 2016) period, with an average of 85,000 (conservative number) imported workers per year (26 yrs. X 85,000 avg./year, each H-1B worker can work for three years and be extended for another three years for a total of six years. Now, 2.21 million H-1B workers X 3 years = 6.63 million man-years of jobs and/or man years of opportunities taken from American workers. The math is simple enough. The heart ache is not so simple.
Discuss this situation and propose solutions.
Join other engineers at our IEEE North New Jersey PACE mMeting and discuss effects of this government program.
