Wide Area Monitoring System Architectures and Applications in Future Smart Grid
¢This seminar explains the main architecture and applications of the wide area monitoring system. Wide-area monitoring system (WAMs) in smart grid can be defined as a system that captures measurements in the power grid over a wide area and across traditional control boundaries, and then uses those measurements to improve grid stability and events through wide-area situational awareness and some advanced analysis. Now we succeeded building Wide-area monitoring system utilizing synchrophasor measurements that can help with understanding, forecasting, or controlling the status of power grid stability in a real-time. The WAMs architecture will be used to enhance the power system application using the high fast development in the new standard compared with the old one that can help the performance and speed with high sampling rate of data at PMUs and PDC.
