STB17901-One Day Industrial Tour to ULTRA MEGA SOLAR PARK

Santhiram Engineering College student’s of Electrical & Electronics Engineering department has organized a One Day Industrial Tour to “Ultra Mega Solar Park” Gani, Kurnool(dist.), Andhra Pradesh on 21st Sep 2019. This tour is organized in association with IEEE Students Chapter of SREC. The aim of this tour is provide the practical observations and knowledge on the different equipment used in Solar power station. This tour has given a lot of practical knowledge to students regarding Solar Power station. As per the guidelines of the Mr.Raj Kumar, Assistant Engineer has explained about the solar park. The Ultra Mega Solar Park is already producing the solar power with an Capacity of 1000 MW which is the biggest solar generating plant in the world. The Kurnool Solar Park is spread over a total area of 5,932.32 acres in the Gani and Sakunala villages of Kurnool district in Andhra Pradesh and the project was implemented by the Andhra Pradesh Solar Power Corporation Private Limited (APSPCL), a joint venture of the Solar Energy Corporation of India, Andhra Pradesh Power Generation Corporation and the New & Renewable Energy Development Corporation of Andhra Pradesh Ltd. The park utilizes over 4 million solar panels with capacities of 315 and 320 Watts. The panels are connected to four 220/33 kV pooling stations of 250 MW each and a 400 / 220kV grid substation through nearly 2,000 circuit kilometres of cables. The students has clear their doubts with engineer. In this tour, our B.Tech II Year I Sem Electrical & Electronics Engineering students IEEE students of 58 members along with two staff members have visited.
