On Day 1, Dr.C.Arunachalaperumal, Professor, ECE welcomed the gathering and he also expressed his gratitude to IEEE Madras Section for Sponsoring and the management & Principal for providing necessary infrastructure to organize the seminar cum workshop. Shri.D.Dasarathan, Secretary, S.A Engineering College, delivered the Presidential address and Dr.G.S.Kumarsamy, Principal, S.A Engineering College felicitated the Chief Guests with mementos.Dr.G.Kavya, Head of ECE felicitated the gathering with theme of the workshop. Dr. Malathi Sathish, Head - Photonic Research Centre,M S Ramaiah University of Applied Sciences, Bangalore, was the chief guest and delivered inaugural address in the event.
Dr.Shanthi Prince, Professor, Department of ECE, SRM Institute of Science & Technology, Chennai was the chief guest and delivered the technical talk on Emerging Techniques in Optics and Photonics. Dr.S.Mohan, Advisor, S.A.Engineering College, delivered the technical talk on Laser and Optics- for Health Science in the afternoon session.
On Day 2 and Day 3 Hands-on training sessions on simulation software Optsim was handled by professional Mr. Arul Prakash, Product Engineer, Supreme Scientific Corporation, Madurai, accompanied by Dr.C.Arunachalaperumal and Mr.S.Dhilipkumar, SAEC. The training session includes the simulation of simple optical communication system, Parameter sweep, and creation of compound system in block mode, design of FSO, Radio over Fiber, PON, FTTH and Integration of Optsim with MATLAB & SPICE.
Dr.T.D.Subash, Chair-IEEE Photonics Society, Madras Section was chief guest for the valedictory. The valedictory ceremony was started at 3.00 P.M and the event certificates were issued by the chief guests and Principal along with Head of the department.
The Programme ended up with the vote of thanks delivered by Dr.N.Anusha, Professor, ECE.
