An Expert Lecture on “Testing and Commissioning of EHV Power Transformers” under IEEE Student Branch STB62331
IEEE Student Branch of SVEC has organized an Expert Lecture on “Testing and Commissioning of EHV Power Transformers” on 28th February, 2019. This Lecture focused on various Testing procedures to be followed for erecting a new Power Transformer in a substation. It also deals with the practical commissioning work of power transformers in the substation field.

Er. T. Udhaya Kumar, Asst. Divisional Engineer/EHT - Protection/APTRANSCO, has discussed about the introduction about the Power Transformers and its constructional details available in Substations. He also explained about the various Testing procedures to be followed for erecting a new Power Transformer in a substation. He stressed on the practical commissioning work of power transformers in the substation field. The event was scheduled on 28th February, 2019 in Dasari Auditorium from 10:30AM to 01:00PM about 240 students of II B.Tech – EEE have been benefited from the event.

WORK EXPERIENCE
- Presently working as Asst. Divisional Engineer/EHT protection -MRT (Meters, Relays and Testing) in APTRANSCO
- Having 13 Years of work experience in Testing, Trouble shooting and commissioning of relays ranging from Electromechanical, static and Numerical relays upto 400 KV system level.
- Having an work experience in testing and commissioning of Automation Sub stations.
- Testing, Trouble shooting and commissioning of EHT sub station electrical switch gear(Breaker, CT, PT Etc.,) upto 400 KV system.
- Good understanding of Electrical Drawings, Scehems & protection concepts various electrical equipment
(CTs, PTs, Breakers etc.) of EHV Transmission system
- Both practical as well as theoretical knowledge of Different kinds Electrical equipment/Instruments of EHV Transmission system.
