Speakers
IEEE President-Elect Susan (Kathy) Land is a Program Manager for the Missile Defense Agency. Kathy is responsible for advancing the Command, Control, Battle Management & Communications (C2BMC) Program mission objectives. She has more than 30 years of industry experience in the application of software engineering methodologies, the management of information systems, and leadership of software development teams. Ms. Land is an IEEE Fellow and is the author or co-author of a number of texts and publications supporting software engineering principles and the practical application of software process methodologies.
Maria R. Perbellini earned her Master of Architecture from the Pratt Institute. She also holds a Bachelor of Architecture from Istituto Universitario di Architettura di Venezia in Italy. Prior to joining NYIT, she served as associate dean for graduate programs in the College of Architecture at Texas Tech University (TTU), where she developed a Master of Architecture curriculum with four graduate certificates, as well as a post-professional Master of Science in Architecture program with specializations in digital design and fabrication, urban and community design, and design and health. She also coordinated the interdisciplinary Ph.D. program in Land-Use Planning, Management, and Design.
Barbara Porter, joined FragranceNet.com in January 2010 as the Chief Technology Officer. She is responsible for all aspects of technology within the organization (application development, hardware, handheld, network, telephony, virtual and cloud environments) and oversees the business intelligence and project management functions. She plays a major role in the operational evolution of the company – identifying opportunities for cost reductions and streamlining critical business flows.
Sanyogita Shamsunder is the Vice President of Technology Development and 5G Labs at Verizon. Previously, she was Director of Advanced Wireless and Mobile Technology Planning, and has led the 5G network planning and Device Technologies teams at Verizon. Sanyogita has directed and managed teams in all areas of the wireless business, including silicon, and network technology development, marketing, planning and strategy.
Pennie S. Turgeon, M.B.A. brings with her more than 25 years of technology-related experience that includes 13 years as a VP/CIO at Clark University as well as positions at Worcester Polytechnic Institute where she directed its Advanced Distance Learning Network and Academic Technology Center, as well as positions with Texas Instruments and IBM. At Clark University, Turgeon’s accomplishments included a data management strategy and implementation plan that addressed the university’s need for enhanced data governance and data fluency, a career-focused mentoring program, an admissions management system that resulted in a 100 percent increase in undergraduate applications, and an integrated HR/payroll system that improved data integrity and records management while reducing expenditures.
