SOS Charity Event 2019
“SOS Charity Event” is an annual charity event carried out in parallel to IEEE Day celebrations. “SOS Charity Event 2019” is organized by IEEE student branch and IAS student chapter, University of Ruhuna with the collaboration of university students and lecturers. SOS children’s village, Galle is a largest nonprofit organization in the world dedicated to the care of orphaned, abandoned and other vulnerable children.
Annual Ordinary Level Mathematics seminar series for children at SOS village, Galle was started to conduct on 5th of May for the year 2019. Many university students are engaged with the student branch and give their outstanding contribution for the seminar series. The seminar series is to give support and guidance to uplift the education level of the children by picking a most crucial subject like mathematics.
The seminar series was concluded with an event which was held at SOS Children Village celebrating the IEEE Day. The event was carried out on 27th November 2019 from 3.00pm onwards. Donations for children at SOS village were made at the event and the event brought together the children, care-takers at SOS village, and many university students.
