The Summer Training Students at Electrical and Electronic Engineering Department visited Malaysian Refining Company Sdn Bhd (MRCSB), Malacca on 22nd July 2019. The trip was lead by the Summer Program Coordinator, AP Dr Syed Saad Azhar Ali and assisted by Ms Nur Nadiah Suffi from CISIR. The trip was supported by King Abdul Aziz University, EE Department and IEEE Robotics and Automation Society, Malaysia Chapter.

The group was welcomed by Mr Razi. The safety briefing was conducted by him. The trip was coordinated by our collaborator, Mr Fakhrurrazi, Staff Engineer Turbo Machinery and Subsystem at MRCSB. The students were given a trip to the main facility including, reservoir area, distillation units, refinery area, etc. The visit was a guided tour to the entire facility. Later, Engr Razi conducted the adjunct lecture on the SCADA based Process Control for Distillation and Refining Units. He discussed about the control systems involved in the refining process. The visit ended with lunch offered by the host. Dr Saad had discussions with the hosts about internship opportunities and future projects. Dr Saad also met Engr Norashikin for appointment as adjunct lecturer at UTP. Dr Saad and the students thanked the host for a very beneficial visit.
