IEEE Student Branch Inauguration
The IEEE Student Branch Inauguration happened on 10th November, 2019. The event was presided over by:
Prof. Rajat Moona- Director IIT Bhilai
Prof. Rajesh Ingle - Chair, IEEE Pune Section
Mr. Shubham Gupta - Co-ordinating In charge student activities committee IEEE bombay section
Dr. Santosh Biswas - Head of Department of EECS
Dr. Avishek Adhikari - Student Branch Counsellor
The event started with presesnting our dignatories with saplings to honour them. Next Prof. Rajat Moona gave his welcome address. He talked about the different IEEE standards that are an integral part of society and how valuable it is to have a student branch in our institute.
After the Director's speech, Prof. Rajesh Ingle gave a presentation. The presentation was on the different aspects of IEEE and how the Student Branch works. The presentation contained informatino about Student Branch operations, funding, reporting, etc.
Next we had Mr. Shubham Gupta. He talked about co-ordinating the student branches and various difficulties students run into while operating the branch and how to avoid them.
Next to the podium was, Dr. Santosh Biswas. He talked about his IEEE journey and how IEEE helped hime during his graduate days and why it forms an integral part of an institute.
Lastly we had, Dr. Avishek Adhikari. He talked about his experience of being a branch counsellor and the nuances of starting a new Student Chapter in an institute. He focused on the importance of this chapter and how he looks forward to growing this Chapter.
The ceremony ended with presenting all the dignitaries with mementos and taking a group photograph
