Inauguration of IEEE Student Branch at NIT-AP Tadepalligudem-IEEE Vizag Bay Sub Section
The inauguration of the IEEE Student branch was started with the Welcome Speech by Dr.Puli Kishore Kumar Sir, head ECE dept. He addressed the guests and introduced them to the Students. The event started around 10AM followed by Mementos and Saplings presented to the honoured guests. Sri K.V. Sriram, Chair IEEE Vizag Bay Sub-Section handed over the Student Branch Formation letter to the Chair of Student Branch. And Students were excited for the first speaker to come. Registrar Sir delivered the welcome address to the guests again and dignitaries and started talking about our Institute and heritage. He also added the students achievements in
Research, GATE etc. He also added details regarding the composition of students and Permanent campus, that is being currently in development.
Around 11AM, Dr. Lakshminarayana Sadasivuni talked about benefits of IEEE membership
and the year plan-2020 of Student Branch about:
- How to Run an IEEE Student Branch
- How to organize technical talks
- Benefits to Students with IEEE Membership
- Benefits to IEEE Professional Members
- Organizing IEEE Conferences
After about an hour, he presented on AI & Text mining. He gave a brief introduction on how
Google’s Page Rank algorithm and Search results optimization. He also added that his
research paper helped Google Chrome browser(2007) by adding user characteristics to the browser and making it intelligent for automatic predictions.
In the post lunch session around 2PM, Dr Abraham Varughese, Scientist - G NSTL DRDO provided a talk on Embedded Systems . Many other students from ECE dept have attended for the session. He talked about the applications of Embedded systems.
