The digital society has become a main part in our daily life. The digital multimedia includes digital images, digital audios, digital videos, and so on. With the development of new digital technology and tools, all kinds of security issues of digital multimedia become a great challenge for us. This report will present some hot issues (cases) in this domain in recent years. The history of forgery and forensics will be introduced and some definitions of image & video forgery and category will be given. We will discuss some special solutions, future work such as unsolved problem of image & video forgery will also be listed. The challenge of forgery just begins to be treated seriously in recent ten years. A great number of issues in these areas have not been solved so far. So it has become a great challenge for everyone living in the digital society.

Agenda

Dr. Tanfeng Sun is an Associate Professor of Electrical Engineering from Shanghai Jiao Tong University. Over the past ten years at SJTU he has committed to the development of novel technology for image and video security. His innovations include watermarking for protection of copyrights, tampering detection technology for forensics, and content understanding for exploring security events. Dr. Sun has published over 50 peer reviewed journal and conference papers. He was granted 11 patents and 2 software copyrights in China. Dr. Sun is in charge of two NSFC (National Science Foundation China) projects and is Co-PI for other 5 NSFC projects.

Dr. Sun received his Ph. D in Electrical Engineering from Jilin University, China. He is currently working at NJIT ECE department as a visiting professor.
