Engineering Ethics

This professional practice ethics course is designed to meet the NJ State Board of Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors license renewal requirements. Two (2) New Jersey approved PDHs in Ethics and two (2) New York state Live Course PDHs will be awarded. Topics include:

  • Review the existing NJ statutes governing professional licensed practices and how these statutes incorporate ethical rules of conduct;
  • Present case studies of current headlines that could have ethical aspects
  • Conclude with a general discussion of professional ethics in a global economy including the impact of the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act on engineers (e.g., the Anti-bribery Provisions

Joseph K. Lee, P.E. A versatile and highly experienced mechanical and nuclear engineer with over 40 years of notable achievement in manufacturing facilities, nuclear power plant engineering analysis, military officer, and mechanical design & improvement as well as teaching and researching. Major strengths include a proven track-record in nuclear power plant/fuel/waste-treatment analysis; engineering upgrades and consulting; site installation coordination & project oversight, quality assurance, process improvement and cost reduction; a wide-ranging knowledge of engineering principles; excellent multi-lingual communication; and the ability to coordinate multiple concurrent projects delivering quality results on time and within budget.  Instructor for Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) Courses at Continuing Education Institute, Fairfield, NJ (2017 – Present)
