The second execom meeting of PES Kerala Chapter Execom Members was held at IEEE Kerala Section Office, Trivandrum, on 9th Jun'19.

Minutes
The meeting started with Er. AK Suhair (Chair, PES Kerala Chapter) welcoming the execom members and giving an overview of chapters performance over the past 3 months.
- A minor change in the Execom as two of the Execom Members, Er. Jishnu K (YP Coordinator) and Er. Jaikrishnan Nair (Secretary) moving out of state to pursue higher studies.
As discussed and agreed in the Execom meeting, Prof. Boby Philip(SCT, Trivandrum) will be taking charge as the Secretary and Asst. Prof. Prabin James (Vimal Jyothi Engg Colg., Kannur) will be leading the YP wing of PES Kerala Chapter.
- Membership growth and retention topping the priority list in the Chairs note, immediate intervention into the same is required to strengthen the volunteer pool of the chapter. Er. KR Venugopal(with support of execom members) has taken up the responsibility of contacting members from 2017 and 2018 memberlist and send a reminder mail to renew their memberships. Contacting Prof. Saina Dipti from CET to maintain our foothold in CET as Prof. Sreejaya is busy with accreditation duty.
- Chairman also congratulated the team for achieving the Global feet of making PES Kerala Chapter '#1' in High Performance Chapter Awards, with an Award of $980 towards chapter activities.
- He also congratulated the team for a highly appreciative mail sent by Mr. Christopher from PES HQ in response to the Outstanding Chapter Award (OCA) nomination submission. The e-mail highly spoke about the high impact member benefit activities conducted by PES Kerala keeping in mind all its members with varied interests and demography. Although PES Kerala does not stand a chance to win the OCA this year as we won it last year, the e-mail surely reflects on our efforts reaping dividends and the high potential PES has in transforming the Power and Energy scenarios in Kerala for good.
- Suhair also reminded the execom on winning the bid for 2021 APPEEC conference to be held in Kerala and requested all support possible from the Execom Members to make it a grand success.
- Industry 4.0 (based on PES 4.0 theme) to be brainstormed and conducted to benefit and attract industry practitioners towards PES. Prof. Bijuna Kunju to lead the initiative.
- Member elevation to be taken up before the next review cycle and potential members needs to be asked for their CV. Er. Hareendralal to help with the list of potential candidates for member elevation.
- PES Newsletter and Website to be launched within a month. Er. Anandu K will be leading the initiative with the help of Newsletter editor and Web Master.
- Chapters responsibility in nominating it's members for various awards and appreciations.
Er. Jaikrishnan (Secretary), briefed the Execom on the activities organised in 2019 till date, starting from the AGM conducted on 5th Jan'19 and follows below
- Evoke (in association with TKM, Kollam)
- Business meeting with the PES Chapter members of MES College.
- Inauguration of PES Chapter in Adishankara College.
- Talk by Er. Suhair K during EMBS Kerala AGM.
- KSEB paper presentation finals at Vishwajyothi College.
- Science Week Quiz competition at RIT, Kottayam - 5th March
- International Women's Day Celebration at VMFT - 8th March
- PES One-On-One at MEC, Thirikkakara - 7th April
- Science on March and Work in Transition as part of PES Day celebrations - 22nd April
- E-Mobility workshop( SMART CITY initiative) at SCT, Trivandrum - 27th April
- Inauguration of PES Chapter at SCT, Trivandrum - 27th April
- Doodle Competition at Adishankara College as part of IEEE Day Celebrations.
- World Environment Day Celebrations at VMFT - 6th June
- Meeting to discuss on APPEEC
Upcoming Events
- 6th July (Afternoon) - Industry-Academia meeting to discuss the Industry needs and possible project topics based on the same for Engineering Students.
- 6th July (Evening) - Felicitation to Prof. VK Damodaran for his passionate volunteering and mentoring efforts towards PES Kerala Chapter.
- 27-29 June - Technical workshop for Women at Ettamanur in association with WIP and PES Kerala. 2-3 student volunteers to be contacted from RIT to volunteer for same.
- Smart City Challenge - Er. Suhair to lead the initiative.

Sponsorship activities to start asap. Creating sponsorship brochures and creating a list of organisations to reach out to.
Outgoing Secretary, Er. Jaikrishnan Nair, who was quittingthe committee on account of going for higher studies, was presented a memento by Prof. Bijuna Kunju K., in appreciation of his volunteering as secretary of the chapter. Members wished him a bright future.
