IEEE WIE INTERNATIONAL LEADERSHIP SUMMIT 2019 Attended By Student Branch
IEEE WOMEN in Engineering International Leadership Summit (WIE ILS 2019) provide regional opportunities to foster networking, mentorship and possible collaboration. This time, the theme of the event was “ Redefining the Defined ”.
The event was held at Sterling’s Max Hotel, Bangalore, India on 30th and 31st August 2019. It was held under the aegis of IEEE Bangalore Section and WIE Bangalore Section. The event was divided into several tracks like -
- Entrepreneurship
- Leadership
- Innovation
- Humanitarian
- Women in Technology
The event included keynote addresses, panel discussions, presentations and many more innovative activities distributed in above mentioned tracks. The event was designed in 2 days, first day started with the inaugural ceremony was followed by the inaugural address by Nigar Shaji, Project Director. Aditya-L1 Mission on “ ISRO Science missions: A glimpse”.
Thereafter, we had keynote lectures by Supavadee Aramvith 2019 Section and Chapter Committee Chair, IEEE Region 10, Kathy Susan Land, Program Manager, US Department of Defence and Takako Hashimoto, Global WIE Chair, Japan.
Then the first track named “ Leadership ” started with the motivational lecture of Bala Bhardvaj, Managing Director, Boeing India Engineering and Technology Center, followed by leadership talk of B V Ravishankar, Principal, BMSCE. Later on, Emi Yano, RIO WIE Chair ended the discussions on leadership with her marvellous talk.
We had Parul Jain, Engineering Leader Google, Ravikiran Annaswamy, CEO Numocity Technologies, Sarada Vempati, Managing Director, Corporate Technology, J P Morgan Chase, Akila Bala Subramanian, Senior Technologist, “ Innovations at HPE ”, Punith Cariappa, Dean School of Management, Dayanand Sagar University, Aruna Kalagnanam, ED, Enterprise Technology, JP Morgan Chase, Shalini Kapoor, Director and CTO- Watson IoT, IBM Distinguished Engineer. The day ended with the cultural events followed by dinner.
Second day started with the keynote talk of Pallavi Srinivasa, Director Product Management, Cisco. Then we had a healthy session of “ Team Fitness ” by Kavitha Sooda, Ashtanga Yoga, freelance teacher for Rashtrotana Yoga and Fitness Center, Sadashivanagar.
Followed by wonderful talks by Smita Ojha, Engineering Leader, Google Enterprise Platform team, Subodh Gajare, Lead Architect, Cisco, Sandhya Ranganathan, Section Manager, HP Enterprise, Laxmi Mukund, Sandhya Kerehalli, Cisco, Vidya Hungad, AVP, Head of Engineering, SRE, Reliance Jio.
