CT114 Case Study – Instrument Landing System Glideslope indications
Case study will describe the problem identification, analysis and resolution of a past technical issue on the CT114 fleet that was related to the design and implementation of an aircraft modification. A technical primer on the Tutor aircraft and ILS (Instrument Landing System) will enable participants to appreciate the risks and challenges associated with installation of newer electronics on legacy equipment.

Capt K.S.Z. Pilatzke of Canadian Armed Forces / Government of Canada
Biography:
Captain Kyle Pilatzke of Rosetown, Sk enlisted in the Canadian Forces in 2001 as an Aerospace Engineer under the Direct Entry Officer plan after graduating from Carleton University with a Bachelor in Aerospace Engineering. Captain Kyle Pilatzke is currently posted to 431 Air Demonstration Squadron (aka the Canadian Forces Snowbirds) and is employed as the Deputy Senior Aircraft Maintenance Engineering Officer. His career experience includes maintenance management on the CF188 Hornet, engineering support of CF188 Structures, instructing at the Canadian Forces School of Aerospace Technology and Engineering and now maintenance management on the CT114 Tutor aircraft. He was recently deployed to Kuwait in support of OP IMPACT in 2018-2019 as the A4 Maintenance staff officer within the Air Task Force – Iraq. He is excited to be posted to his home province of Saskatchewan and is looking forward to the Snowbirds’ 50th Air Show Season!
