Abstract:

With changing world events, protecting our Critical Infrastructure is paramount and understanding the various threats to it are ever more so important.  What is Critical Infrastructure and why should we care?  What’s being done about it and what still needs to be done?  Learn about recent attacks from around the world and how can you help?

Speaker: Michael Allgeier is the Critical Infrastructure Security Director for The Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT).  Michael has spent over 25 years in cyber and physical security with over 10 years specifically in the electric/utility sector and another 10 years as a US Army Special Agent primarily focusing on cyber espionage investigations and operations.  Michael holds a BA in Homeland Security from American Military University and is a graduate of the Joint Counterintelligence Training Academy.  He also has numerous technology and security certifications, military awards and decorations including for Valor and the Purple Heart.
