IEEE Computer Society Chapter, Hyderabad Section in association with Google, Hyderabad takes great pleasure in inviting you to a series of talks on Software Quality Engineering: UI Latency Testing, Evolution of Software Quality & Advances by three industry experts from Google & Oracle Corporation.

h3. Abstracts

Talk 1: The Google Way: UI Latency Testing
Performance Testing traditionally involved a specialized team identifying problems at the end of the coding cycle, when the system was functionally stable. But with the advent of Agile practices, products are released much more frequently, even everyday. In this scenario, how do we address performance testing? This talk introduces an innovative technique for UI latency testing, which was utilized in Gmail. These testing solutions made daily releases with complete testing a reality.

Talk 2: Evolution of Software Quality
The talk will trace the history of software quality as a discipline. The talk will highlight some of the key challenges and transformations. We will also look at the some of the recent trends shaping the industry & throw some light on the possible future directions.


h3. About the speakers

Sujay Sahani

Sujay is APAC Region's Director for Engineering Productivity and is based out of Hyderabad. His career spans over 17 years in the global software industry developing numerous paradigm shifting software products at companies like Tektronix, Microsoft and now Google.While at Microsoft Sujay was among the top leadership responsible for conception and delivery of products like Microsoft SQL Server, Microsoft Windows, .Net Platform, MSN.COM and Office.

Since 2007 Sujay has been with Google's Engineering Productivity Team and is responsible for APAC regional teams. Specifically the India teams (Hyderabad and Bangalore) own and contribute to over 20+ projects (locally and globally) in various engineering roles including Test Engineering, Developer Tools and Infrastructure Development. Sujay also holds various patents and publications in his field.

Jagdish Babra

Jagdish Babra is the Test Manager for Orkut at Google, Hyderabad, India. He also leads the Test Frameworks development effort for various products such as Gmail. Before that, he has worked at Huawei Technologies and Caritor India Pvt. Ltd. In his more than 11 years industry experience, he has worked on various products such as development of Telecom NMS solutions, P2P, and currently, Testing Platforms. Jagdish has a Bachelors of Engineering (Computer Science) from PES College of Engineering, Mysore University. His hobbies are music and cricket.

Srikanth Krishnan

Srikranth Krishnan is the Senior Director and head of Quality Assurance organization for Ebusiness Suite of applications at Oracle Corporation. He has been with Oracle for the last 9 years. Prior to Oracle he was with ABS Dubai as a consultant and Applications Engineer at Sundaram Clayton. Sundaram Clayton was the first winner of the Deming prize for quality in India. Srikanth is an executive committee member of StepIN Hyderabad. He is a lifelong learner whose diverse interests include photography, gardening, technology, management, travel, sociology etc.
