The Precision Proton Spectrometer at the LHC

The seminar will present the Precision Proton Spectrometer project which extends the CMS experiment at the LHC with very-forward proton taggers. This allows, besides others, for new beyond-standard-model searches via precision measurements (like anomalous gauge couplings) or missing mass signatures. In the talk I will give an overview of the detector apparatus and its performance since the project start in 2016. I will also discuss the calibration techniques and present the first physics results.
