h3. Abstract
Semantic technologies are being adopted within enterprises at a rapid pace. Semantic enterprise architecture effectively employs the languages and standards of the semantic Web, including RDF, RDFS, OWL, SPARQL and others, to integrate existing information assets employing the best practices of linked data while adhering to the open world assumption. Suitable application areas include data federation, data warehousing, search, enterprise information integration, business intelligence, competitive intelligence and knowledge representation. Semantic enterprise architectures enable loosely coupled, distributed systems that can grow and interoperate in a decentralized manner. This talk lays out reference architecture for semantic enterprise application, explains the key components and concepts in this architecture and walks through specific examples to clarify. The talk also identifies challenges faced by practitioners in implementing the reference architecture and offers practical solutions to these challenges.
