Internet of Things (IoT) devices are used in wide variety of engineering and non-engineering applications.  They are used for monitoring Smart Homes, Smart Grids, Mobile Users and even Servers in the Clouds.  By nature of their usage, a large amounts of data from a large number of devices is collected, aggregated, stored, processed and visualized.  Obviously, the End-to-End architecture of the systems which support IoT applications must be scalable.  As the type of applications are varied, there is no universally accepted standard architecture.  The proposed talk discusses the common characteristics of IoT applications, identifies important elements involved, discusses the challenges which influence the architecture and describes a scalable architecture along with some of technologies used to support this architecture.
