Design of antennas for defense applications

This talk will cover the radiation mechanism, fundamentals of antenna, design methodology of antenna which includes material selection, configuration selection, simulation, fabrication and assembling procedures. It also briefs about printed antenna and slotted waveguide antenna design cycle. Case study of Electronic Warfare, RADAR, Satellite & missile antennas and related practical issues

Biography:

K Sambasiva Rao received his B.Tech. Degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering in 2003 from NIT, Warangal, India. He received M.E degree in Microwave and Radar Engineering from Osmania University, Hyderabad, India. He was a Technical officer in ECIL, Hyderabad from May 2005 to June 2009. He joined Research Center Imarat, DRDO, Hyderabad in June 2009 and presently working as Scientist in Radar Antennas and Components Division. He is a member of IEEE, Antennas and Propagation Society and Microwave Theory and Techniques Society. His area of interest is microwave antennas and arrays for RADAR, communication and military applications. He has published 15 research papers in International Conference/Journals proceedings. He is also a reviewer of national and international conferences.

He has won best session paper awards in ATMS-2016 Hyderabad and TREAT-2016 in NIT Warangal.  He has won best poster and best session awards in IAIM-IEEE, Bangalore in 2017. He is a team member of DRDO Performance Excellency award 2016, New Delhi. He has delivered oration on the occasion of “National Technology Day” and received Titanium Medal from Director RCI-DRDO in 2017.
