During the tough times of COVID-19, while the colleges were struggling to conduct fruitful online classes, the lab sessions were on hold as there was no choice and way to conduct them effectively. To bridge the gap between the colleges and young cum curious minds of students, IEEE VNR CASS & SPS Student Branch Chapters conducted a session to enlighten the audience about the importance of Virtual Labs.

Virtual Labs project is an initiative of Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Government of India under the aegis of National Mission on Education through Information and Communication Technology (NMEICT). This project is a consortium activity of twelve participating institutes and IIT Delhi is coordinating institute.

The speakers started off by thoroughly briefing the audience about the usefulness of Virtual Labs. A hands-on session took place where Ms. Damaraju showed the audience how to use Virtual Labs by performing a few experiments from different domains like Information Technology, Electronics and Mechanical Engineering. The audience which consisted of professors from different colleges performed experiments and learnt the importance of it thoroughly. Feedback forms were given to participants which required each participant to perform 20 different lab sessions and rate each of them. End of the session got a lot of new insights and suggestions from the participants which could be merged with the current version of Virtual Labs.
