Name of the activity:-  Lumino 2.0 - National Hackathon 

Problem Statement:-Design & Development of a smart and efficient Illumination system for real world application- Traffic Light System.

Structure of the Event:-17 March:- Inaugration Ceremony- 11:30 to 12:30 am

                                                        Session 1:- (Mr.D.P  Kothari sir)- 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM

                                                      Session 2:- (Mr. Mahesh Rakheja):- 12:30 PM to 1:45 PM

                                                      Networking session:- 2:30 to 4:00 pm

                                                      Participant interaction:- 4:00 to 5:30

                                      10 January:- Orientation program:- 10:30 to 11:00

                                       Hackathon:- From 9th January 11:00 AM to 11th January 11:00 AM      

Purpose of Event:- This Event focuses on direct involvement of students in problem solving criteria & providing a national level platform for 

students from various states all around India to enhance their skills and develop their personality.

No. of students participated:- 15 teams were selected (each team consisting of at

least 4 to 5 members).

Participation from states:- Maharashtra ( Amravati, Nagpur, Mumbai); Karnataka (Mysore).

WINNERS:-

The 1 st winner of the Hackathon was team Celtics from Vidyavardhaka College of Engineering, Mysore with members named:Harshith Gowda, Chandan, Tejas Kumar, Shubhanga.

The 2 nd prize winner was team AVR Hackers from Universal College of Engineering, Mumbai with membersnamed:-Jatin Mahesh Gohil, Akshay Ladha,Ganesh Basyal, Sahil Nikam.

The 3 rd prize winner was team Royals from Mysore with members named:-Shankarshan Kulkarni,Thirumalesh MJ,Preeetham Shenoy,Mithum Krishna.

Details:-

Theme: The theme of this event LUMINO was to focus on the direct involvement of students in problem-solving criteria & providing a National level platform for students from various states all around India to enhance their skills and develop their personalities.

The vision & Mission of Event: Empower delegates by enhancing their technical, networking and teamwork skills, and help them become potent professionals.

A National level hackathon was conducted in S. B. JAIN INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY, MANAGEMENT AND RESEARCH under IEEE PES S.B.JAIN student chapter named LUMINO on 9th to 11th January 2020.

Aimed to test the technical skills of the students all over India by providing a national level platform to the engineering students and to develop the creativity, teamwork, communication skills with the technical skills.

Conclusion:- Subsequently, the closing ceremony was conducted at the seminar hall where all the respected dignitaries were present. The felicitation of winners was done by the hands of the respected dignitaries.

Biography:

Dwarkadas Prahladadas Kothari is an educationist and professor who has held leadership positions at engineering institutions in India including IIT Delhi, Visvesvaraya National Institute of Technology, Nagpur and VIT University, Vellore. Currently, He is with Electrical Engineering Department as Hon. Adjunct Professor. As a recognition of his contributions to engineering education, he was honoured as an IEEE Fellow. Previously he was Vice-Chancellor at VIT University.. On his 75th Birthday, he was given the title of "Electrical Professor" by all his research scholars, faculty and well-wishers and a personal website of him was launched titled www.electricalprofessor.com. The 75th birthday also marks his 50 years of professional experience.
