LaTeX - A Scientific Documenting Tool
Dr. B. Rajasekhara Reddy is an Asst. Professor in the Dept of EIE, VNRVJIET. He has an experience of more than 10 years with LaTeX, which is an asset for the students to improve their technical presentation skills.
A Google form was circulated in social media starting from May 19, 2020. There was an overwhelming response and the registrations count crossed 600 in a very short span. The webinar was conducted on 21st of May, 2020 and was attended by more than 400 participants consisting of both faculty and students. The session was extremely informative and interactive with Dr. Rajasekhara.
As it was a hands-on session, the learners were very excited and the learning was made easy through the live execution of a document by Dr. Rajasekhara. Attendees have learnt several commands and techniques which would help them in preparing an impressive technical document. Learners were very enthusiastic and posted queries which were answered by the speaker. We have received a very positive feedback from the learners after the webinar session. This boosted our excitement of conducting such events in the future.
This was one of the most successful sessions conducted by IEEE VNR Student Branch during the lockdown with many professionals and students joining in the enriching hands-on session. IEEE Hyderabad section has given a tremendous support and played a major role behind the success of the event. The event was coordinated by IEEE VNR Student Branch volunteer team with the help of the branch counsellor Dr. Y. Padma Sai.

The motive behind conducting this webinar is to help all those mini scientists in publishing a paper and showcase their innate talent. With the usage of LaTeX, students can elevate their professional career by preparing the effective technical documents and articles. It is easy to handle typical mathematical equations and other aspects like layout with quality in times of working with thesis, reports or articles with help of this software.
At the end of the day, participants gained knowledge and brushed up their technical documentation skills. This session was exceptional and VNR IEEE SB is delighted to meet the expectation of the participants and plans to conduct more such webinars for the benefit of students in future.
