VLSI Design and Opportunities
The speaker Mr. Avinash Yadlapati has done his M.Tech in VLSI from KL Deemed to be University and has an experience of over 17 years in the field of VLSI. He has worked with well-known VLSI companies like Qualcomm, AMD, Cyient, Infosys etc. He is currently the Senior Director Engineering in Mirafra Technologies. His wide experience made him a very good guide for the participants as he shared the basics of VLSI Design and the Opportunities in the industry for freshers.
A Google form was circulated in social media starting from May 28, 2020. There was an overwhelming response and the registrations count crossed 270 in a very short span. The webinar was conducted on 30th of May, 2020 and was attended by more than 110 participants consisting of both faculty and students. The session was extremely informative and interactive with Mr. Yadlapati.
The webinar started off with Mr. Yadlapati imparting knowledge about the important steps followed by every VLSI Engineer while designing a chip or circuit. He laid the foundation for participants and made the session interactive by asking questions and commenting positively on all responses. After which, he described briefly about all possible opportunities that a student can utilize and what preparation each role needed. It was followed by the Q&A session where students asked intriguing questions about the industry and Mr. Yadlapati was patient enough to answer all of those. The speaker also shared his contact information for the participants to utilize his experience and exposure to improve their careers; he promised to help students and was ready to provide guidance at any given time.
The session was very successful as a number of students and faculty members took away a lot of knowledge and inspiration from Mr. Yadlapati. IEEE VNR CASS SBC is grateful to its highly functional volunteering team and the Branch Counsellor, Dr. Y. Padma Shayi.
