IAS Panel: How is your company / industry handling COVID-19?

To IAS Petitioners and all IEEE Richmond Members,

 

The IAS Richmond chapter has organized a virtual discussion panel with some industry leaders to discuss how various companies are handling the business changes as a result of COVID-19. The virtual panel discussion will be on Thursday, June 4th, from 6pm - 7pm. 

 

The Panel Includes:

- Kurt Clemente, RS&H Sr. Electrical Engineer & Employee Owner

- Jerry Baker, Moore's Vice President of Construction

- Greg Gerwig-Dively, ASCO Manufacturing Project Operations Manager

 

A bio of each panelist will be sent out prior to the virtual meeting. Possible topics include:

  1. Employee Safety.
  2. Supply Chain Disruption.
  3. Construction Impacts.
  4. Design Impacts.
  5. Operational Impacts.
  6. Efficiency changes.
  7. Communication challenges.
  8. New client interaction issues.
  9. Other topics?

 

There will be questions prepared, but I urge all those interested in attending to come with questions for an open discussion.

Jerry Baker

Biography:

Jerry has 38 years of experience in the construction industry, and learned from the ground up. He began his career working with his father, following in his footsteps to become a “Carpenter by Trade.” He accredits much of his success to SkillsUSA which was a springboard for his career and development. Jerry continued to grow and develop in stages and over time. He is a key member of the leadership team @ Moore’s Electrical & Mechanical, a construction firm with over 500 skilled craft hands in the field, where he continues to implement the leadership skills and work ethic that were cultivated. He is responsible for preconstruction and construction operations. Jerry is passionate about building teams and helping to develop others. He is best described as a servant leader by his peers and colleagues.

Kurt Clemente

Biography:

Kurt Clemente (S'91, M'93, SM'06) graduated from the University of Illinois at Chicago in 1993 with a BSEE degree and from Old Dominion University in 1995 with a MS degree. He is a senior electrical engineer and associate with RS&H in Norfolk, VA. He is a senior member of the IEEE, a member of IEEE Standards Coordinating Committee 18, and a representative to Code-Making Panel #18 of NFPA-70 National Electrical Code. Mr. Clemente holds three patents for fiber optic components and submersible LED lights. He is a Registered Communications Distribution Designer (RCDD) and a licensed professional engineer in six states and the District of Columbia.
