Agenda

This talk encompasses the skills required for an Engineer to make the transition into Sales. I spent many years as a Design and Test Engineer. I then transitioned into Applications Engineering, as the technical support for Sales Engineers. As an Engineer, I observed the techniques used by the successful Sales Engineers I worked with. When I eventually took a position as a Sales Engineer, I was fortunate to be trained by someone with many years of sales and sales management experience. I additionally attended several sales training courses to hone my skills as a Sales Engineer. Every Sales Engineer must develop a personal style. This talk does not dictate methods. Instead, it discusses proven techniques used by most successful Sales Engineers.
