A Talk on “Electrical Equipment in Power Plants-Concepts, Operation & Design Aspects” was organised.
Introduction of Power plants and components in Power plant viz. Turbo generator, Exciter & AVR, Power Transformers, Circuit Breakers and Isolators, Distribution and auxiliary Transformers and Power Plant Grid are discussed. The concept of Cogeneration and Combined Cycle Gas Turbine plant are explained.
The Design aspects, construction, operation, cut away view and performance curves of Turbo generators with brushless exciter have been considered. Operation of Generator Excitation System and Digital Generator Protection with Data Acquisition have been elaborated.
Manufacturing process of transformers and its practical applications in Power System Networks are considered.
