The United Nations Sustainable Development Goals consist of 17 goals and 169 objectives, including affordable and clean energy, industry, innovation, and infrastructure, ending poverty, sustainable cities and communities, achieving gender equality and guaranteeing access to safe drinking water. The United Nations member states are aware that the goals of sustainability, global peace, and security cannot be achieved with the sole leadership of governments and foundations. For this reason, in 2015, the United Nations requested the collaboration of the business sector to develop the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG).
