On 5th September 2020, VNR IEEE SB organized a webinar on the topic “Technology Fundamentals” from 02:00 PM to 04:00 PM  for second-year students of VNRVJIET. The speakers on the occasion were Karthik Bashakarla(Site Reliability Engineer, NCR), Sree Dhurti(Business Technology Analyst, Deloitte USI), Neeraj Sirvesetti(Systems Engineer, TCS), Chidrupa M(Business Technology Analyst, Deloitte USI), Akash Moses G(Software Engineer, JPMC).

  • Karthik Bashakarla

He spoke on the importance of Linux and Cloud Computing and career options in those fields. He also spoke on how to improve job opportunities by using Linkedln and how to use Git and Github for projects.

  • Sree Dhurti

She spoke on the importance of apps in everyday life and the different platforms available for app development and the various sources available to learn app development. She also spoke on the different project domains companies are looking for and gave a briefing about IoT. She also spoke about the importance of publishing a paper in undergraduate study.

  • Neeraj Sirvesetti

He spoke on the importance of Python as a programming language and it’s applications in various fields such as ML, DL & AI. He explained the importance of project-oriented learning and how to approach starting a project. He also spoke on the importance of end to end learning in a technological cycle.

  • Chidrupa M

She spoke about the Project Life Cycle and gave an overview of it. She explained the steps in building a good project and gave insights into the Deloitte Technoutsav Hackathon.

  • Akash Moses G

He spoke on the importance of various types of programming languages and their fundamentals and also gave a placement oriented perspective of Java. He gave the fundaments for core-based technologies such as MATLAB & SIMULINK.

Agenda

The goal of this webinar was to help the students understand the fundamentals of various technologies, their importance, and how to start learning them.


A total of 110 participants attended the webinar and among them, 30 were IEEE members and 80 were non-IEEE. This webinar helped participants better understand the fundaments of different technologies and their importance in various fields.
