The IEEE QLD chapter for Control Systems/Robotics and Automation would like to announce the following QUT Robotics Centre Seminar by Andrew Scott:

Title: Implementation Guideline for Autonomous systems in Mining

Abstract: This talk will provide a high level insight into important aspects and consideration of introduction of autonomous systems into an industrial environment of Mineral extraction, based on the published guidelines from the Global Mining Guidelines group, which is an industry lead collaboration providing key guidance and reference material to the resource industry. We will explore some of the limitations and potential areas for improvement and research.

Short Bio: Andrew Scott, Principal Innovator, Symbiotic Innovations.

Long history in technology innovation, with over 30 years of experience in the resource industry with Placer Dome and Barrick Gold. Studied biotechnology and computer science at the University of Queensland. Was one of the founders of the Global Mining Guidelines collaboration group (an open collaborative startup focused on helping the Resource industry), and more recently the chair for Queensland Robotics (a member of Robotics Australia – growing the robotics Industry globally). Andrew is deeply interested in symbiotic collaboration to stimulate, promote and realize positive outcomes for humanity and the planet earth.
