Hazardous Live and Limited Current Source
Various IEC safety standards describe in detail the safety requirements for “SELV.” However, while acknowledging the concept of a “limited current source,” these same standards rarely describe the requirements for such a source. This paper defines “hazardous live” parts and demonstrates how a limited current source is the current equivalent of a limited voltage source (SELV).
