Please join this webinar with Mr. Jerod Marker, past Chair of the IEEE Columbus PES Chapter and an Engineer Principal from AEP's Transmission Planning department. 1 PDH will be provided to attendees who will be tracked and proven to be in attendance for this entire webinar.

Abstract: The presentation will cover the basics of Transmission Planning studies, with a focus on policies and practices within the PJM RTO.  Topics of discussion shall include:  historical background for reliability standards, details of the NERC TPL standard, formation of the powerflow model, contingency analysis, and solution development.

Jerod Marker

Biography:

Jerod Marker is a Principal Engineer in the Transmission Planning department at American Electric Power in Columbus, Ohio, where he is responsible for long-term planning of the high voltage transmission grid.  Prior to joining AEP, he worked at FirstEnergy in Akron, Ohio, with time spent in Transmission Planning and rotational assignments in various transmission & distribution departments.  He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Cincinnati, with a Math minor, where he graduated Magna Cum Laude and was a University Honors Scholar.  He is a registered Professional Engineer in Ohio, IEEE Senior Member, and past Chair of the IEEE Columbus PES Chapter.
