Meet Your neighborhood DOE National Labs Webinar: Argonne and Fermilab - Presented by IEEE Chicago and IEEE Region 4
Meet Your neighborhood DOE National Labs: Argonne and Fermilab
"What we do and how to work with us"
Did you know that within 40 miles of downtown Chicago there are not one but two Department of Energy (DOE) National Labs? Two of the DOE’s 17 National Labs, Argonne National Laboratory (Argonne) and Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory (Fermilab) have served as the leading institutions for scientific innovation in the United States for more than 70 years. Our researchers tackle the critical scientific challenges of our time – from origins of the universe to design of new energy materials to climate change. Argonne and Fermilab operate unique facilities and scientific instruments, many of which are not found anywhere else in the world. Beyond scientific discovery, we are also focused on translating basic research to innovation through partnerships. Join us for this introductory webinar to learn what research goes on at Argonne and Fermilab, and how innovators from multiple disciplines can advance their own projects in collaboration with your two neighborhood National Labs!
