TECHEXPO’19, 6th National level Hardware and Software project competition was conducted on 30th March 2019 in association with the IETE, IEEE GCET SB and ISTE professional bodies. Techexpo is a forum for motivating budding engineers to unleash their hidden technical talent by way of showcasing their projects which are implemented in hardware and/or software.  With this intention, Techexpo was introduced in the year 2014 by the department.

 

A total of 118 batches have participated in the competition, out of which 24 batches were from various reputed colleges namely CVR College of Engineering, Sreenidhi Institute of Science and Technology, TKRCET, St.Peters Engineering college, ACE Engineering College, CMR Group of Institutions, Holy Mary Institute of Technology & Science, etc.

 

Prof. C.R. Sharma, an Electronics Engineer from Madras Institute of Technology (now Anna University) & Former Vice-Chairman, IETE, Hyderabad centre and Dr K. J. Satyanarayana, Former Professor, Osmania University were invited as External judges.

The competition was inaugurated by them at 10:00 AM on 30th March 2019 in the presence of Dr.Udaya Kumar Susarla, the Principal of the college, Prof. B. Hari Kumar, Convener & HoD, ECE and Dr C V Narasimhulu, Professor & Coordinator of the event.  The judges were accompanied by Dr S. Suryanarayana and Prof. OVPR. Siva Kumar, Professors of the department, who supported as internal judges in evaluating the mini and major projects demonstrated in different labs of the department.

 

The projects are evaluated based on the following criteria:

  • Innovation,
  • Application to the societal needs,
  • Demonstration of prototype
  • Presentation skills.

Based on the evaluation, merit list (which includes prize amounts) was prepared as given below table 1.

 

The valedictory function was started at 03:30 PM on 30th March 2019 in which Prof. C.R. Sharma, Dr K.J.Satyanarayana, Dr.Udaya Kumar Susarla, Principal, GCET and  Prof. B.Hari Kumar, Convenor, Professor & HoD, ECE  addressed the gathering. They appreciated the initiative and the efforts of students and distributed merit certificates for the winners, certificates for participants and Appreciation certificates for student coordinators.

Dr C.V. Narasimhulu, Coordinator for the event, thanked the External and Internal Judges, all the participants, student coordinators and faculty coordinators for all the support extended for making the event a GRAND success.
