Emerging trends in Electric vehicles and Opportunities

Electric vehicles increasingly become part of our daily life and there is a growing need for more efficient charging stations. Electric vehicles are a promising technology, since they can drastically cut emissions from the transportation sector. The main aim of this webinar is to introduce the concepts of Electric vehicles, various configurations of EV and their working principles. Besides the purpose of this webinar is intended to impart the knowledge on the opportunities in Electric vehicles in India.

Biography:

Dr. V Sandeep received Ph.D from Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi. He is working as Assistant Professor & Head, Department of Electrical Engineering at National Institute of Technology (NIT) Andhra Pradesh, Tadepalligudem. He is the Interim Chair of PES- PELS-IAS Joint Chapter, IEEE Vizag Bay Section and Branch Counselor of NIT AP –IEEE Student Branch. He is the Coordinator of NIRF Committee, NIT AP. He had Industrial experience at General Electric Global Research Centre, Bangalore. He received many awards notable being “Gandhian Young Technological Innovation Award 2013” by SRISTI and NIF, Govt of India, selected as amongst the top 24 innovators across the country by Economic Times NOW and Times NOW in 2013, recognized as a “Corporate Finalist” at the 3M-CII Innovation Challenge 2014, selected in Top 10 Innovative Projects Award 2014 at Doctoral Level by Indian National Academy of Engineering (INAE), Govt of India, selected as finalist of IITD Class of 89 Innovation Award 2012, received Silver Medal for Best Research Paper, by Indian Railway Board and Institution of Engineers, in 2017 and received Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam National Award 2017 and Most Promising IEEE Student Branch 2018 Award, from IEEE Bangalore Section, IEEE Regional Exemplary Student Branch Award 2019 being branch counsellor at CUK, Secured 5th Rank in Proctor’s programming at IEEEXtreme 13.0 Programming Competition in 2019. He has received several best oral and poster presentation awards. He organised more than 110 technical events for the engineering students including IEEEXtreme Programming Competition in 2018 & 2019 as Proctor. He delivered more than 50 popular lectures on energy and education at reputed institutes / organizations. He guided successfully 50 B.Tech & M.Tech Thesis and currently guiding 06 PhD students. He is IEEE Senior Member, IEEE Brand Ambassador and IEEE Young Professional and Active Senior Member in Power & Energy Society, Power Electronics Society, Industrial Applications Society and Industrial Electronics Society since 2010. He is also Member, E4C Community, Member, International Association of Engineers (IAENG), Member, Institute of Engineers (India), and Life Member, Indian Society for Technical Education (ISTE). He is the mentor for student start-ups. He published about 35 research papers in reputed international journals and conference proceedings. He has been serving as a Reviewer for several international Journals. His current research interests include Micro grids, Smart Grids, Electric Vehicles, Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning in Energy Systems.
